Exhibiting the Silk Road

Since the launch of Belt and Road, an extraordinary array of Silk Road themed events have taken place. While many of these have occurred in China, we have seen a dramatic increase in Silk Road cultural events across the international geographies of Belt and Road. Many of the underlying messages are the same, but the themes change depending on location. Maritime or overland, the Silk Road is carefully curated to communicate particular ideas about the world order, past and present, the benefits of transboundary trade and how religions and cultures can live in peace.
